I pirati del web all'assalto di Montecitorio
In vista delle elezioni regionali il popolo di internet interroga il mondo politico sullo stato dell'arte della Rete and its future in Italy. Saturday, March 20 to 11 at the Teatro Capranica in front of Deputies are held on the second edition of the Feast of the Pirates.
DEMOCRACY - A short walk from the Parliament examines the legal measures taken by the government in terms of regulation of the Internet, the possibilities opened up by democratic social networks and will present some of the most effective software to ensure the anonymity and freedom of navigation users in countries where Internet is censored. For example, it is called the Freenet and Tor, protocols and applications that make it anonymous, respectively the content and navigation. In the U.S., after the recent attacks in China to Google, some senators are considering sending some of government funds at this type of systems around-censorship.
KNOWLEDGE OF THE WEB - The organizers, in favor of net neutrality and revising the system of copyright, have thought of a moment in which bipartisan leaders of the Italian left and right will have to demonstrate what they know and the matter of the web their proposals on the merits. The initiative is sponsored by the Lazio Region and the Province of Rome. For one day, the defenders of freedom of knowledge, spreaders mp3, politicians, administrators and hackers will discuss ways in which today is the production and sharing of knowledge.
THE PARTY - The program is full of appointments. At the entrance a group of burlesque hostess welcomes guests with pirate look. Throughout the day there will also measures of visual art and journalism including a video installation will propose a permanent remixing content discussed in various meetings. The first part of the appointment is divided into five sessions of debate and the second (in the evening) is all geared to sharing the fun and playful, with works by international artists.
ISSUES IN DEBATE - The morning starts with a close comparison between computer experts and politicians. The first afternoon the players will be bloggers and journalists on the topic of Web 2.0. Following the Web to see if the TV in a debate-style talk show the rules that apply to television should also apply to the Internet. Then he will address the issues of censorship and control and will be shown all the ways to circumvent those who illegally spy and track users. In time it is called the cocktail of Europe and the world: law and global movements, inevitable Magnus Eriksson from Sweden representative of Pirate Bay.
CONTROVERSY - The initiative has bipartisan in his hand already on the controversy and "let appalled" Tullio Camiglieri, coordinator of the study center for the protection of authors' rights and freedom of information: "When will the party of thefts dexterity or the Association of Friends of the buzz legalized? ". Camiglieri is surprising that they have joined the demonstration "even members of our Parliament, it would be more useful if they think our representatives to responsibly protect the cultural industry sacked Italian daily by online piracy. Hundreds of thousands of people employed in film, publishing, newspapers and music industry in danger of their jobs. Without revenue there will be no investment and will have no more sense to allocate resources to the creation of a film, a documentary, a new newspaper or for a musical production. "
Revolution - Do not miss the answers, this time we think Martin Blissett, of SharingIsCaring: "We feel hurt by the statement of our dear friend Camiglieri, our aim has always been to use the network to remix, share and disseminate the works of human genius. We help authors, showing how the Internet can become an extraordinary occasion for them. " He added: "As a father I have always tried to teach my children the love of neighbor and sharing the joys of learning, and so I do not like being compared to a thief or a bust. We very much regret that Camiglieri not understand the value of the digital revolution that is underway: the contradictions are completely useless and his criticisms are unfair and outdated. It would be desirable to instead work together for the common good e per un libero accesso alla conoscenza delle nuove generazioni».

Making A Bathtub Out Of Cardboard
Rita Mahato, health consultant for the Center for Rehabilitation women (Worec) in Siraha district, has received threats because of his work as legal and medical assistance to women who have suffered violence.
In June 2007, about 60/70 men went to Worec Rita Mahato and threatened, and rest of the staff, rape and death notice to leave the village within five days. On another occasion, about 20 people hurled bricks at the staff and the headquarters of Worec.
These acts were denounced and sought protection, but police did not initiate any investigation into these events nor provide protection to women. Rita Mahato continues to receive threats and suffer discrimination in his community because of his work for the Worec.
She was told that a woman without an education should not do the work of a man and that if they wanted, the men could return it from where it came.
Rita is scared and afraid for his life, but nevertheless continues to carry on his work for the rights of women.
This news comes from Amnesty International.

Quando sono arrivato in Italia, la passione che c’era verso questa ideologia, mi haportato a fare un viaggio come studente universitario attorno a tutti paesi dell'ex blocco sovietico, forse vi ricordate che they carried the symbols of the West in these countries, such as chewing gum and cigarettes that give traveling in Eastern Europe. When I arrived in Bulgaria, the last of the countries where I went I found a playground where there were children and went to the playground to provide them with chewing gum and I was amazed that the children took chewing gum but had no idea what it was they had never seen the gum chewing, the West and were thus excluded from this I remembered in 2005 when I had the opportunity to return to Bulgaria to present a report, this extraordinary place called the Red House and talked to many young Bulgarians and I discovered in 2005 were equal to all youth throughout the West and perhaps knew more about the Internet than many of my colleagues from Stanford in California. In 2003 I was invited to a conference organized by Viacom one of the most important media companies in the world in Scottsdale Arizona, this beautiful place where I had to contribute to a discussion on the protection of copyright and technology, but since was known as the anarchist of copyright was a little 'how to throw a Christian to the lions because the directors of Viacom thought it was their duty to beat me rhetorically, and then this executive was so hard it sent me after' dele but after meeting a formal apology l’incontro e le critiche feroci che mi erano state rivolte dei dirigenti della Viacom, una serie di giovani della Viacom mi hanno preso parte e mi ha detto bisogna capire che qui siamo in Cina e noi aspettiamo che muoiano e poi andremo al potere noi. “è stata una lezione eccezionale forse più interessante I've heard, but were completely disagree with everything I had said. This surprised me because I had not said anything which could be someone with whom to disagree, I said some things banal. So I wanted to understand what it was that led to this disagreement by these people, so I followed their leaders in a discussion with students. There were several students who stood up once and made applications to the Internet to these concerns leading French culture, questions that seemed very clear and one at a time these students have been corrected and rebuked by these leaders because they said they do not had understood nothing about the future. And in fact one of the leaders said "My job is to defend the uses that are being lost" and after that, one student said: "This has always been the dream of dinosaurs." Thus, the separation that we see in the world today, not so much a division between nations, but more separation between the generations.
The separation between the members of Generation Y in the various countries in which they live, is less than the separation that we have with young people within the countries in which we live. It is a large gap is growing. So if we legislate for us, we tend to legislate against them. But we must understand that the law of nature says that we do not defeat them. Internet permette delle cose, è una creatura che permette innovazione, una innovazione not designed and not expected., Innovation, what some call freedom. What kind of innovation? If man were merely good, but innovation is merely good. But you do not need a professor to remind you that we are not only good, in our society is both good and evil here, as everywhere, there's good and evil. Then there is the well on the Internet, Google, Facebook, YouTube also Tunes, even if someone puts into question, and then there are things that go wrong: the virus spam, botnets, which are siphoning off the computer the malware. These things are evil and destructive in the whole network and we are sponsoring, we fans of the Internet, we spend too much time to praise the good e a dimenticare il male. Noi perderemo our vocal cords, vocal cords will be eliminated from the process of evolution, as we have lost the tail of man when it evolved from monkeys. " So I want you to concentrate on this image, the image of the young age that they were together and sang the songs of the time or the older ones. People who participated in the creation or recreation of their culture. Sousa had reason to fear that the image does not survive, the spread of vinyl, broadcasting, we have become passive listeners, but wrong if you think the technology of the twenty-first century.
are technologies that lead to the resumption of the culture he thought. There port a few examples: I'm sure some of you have seen this extraordinary interpretation of the canon in D, since it was put on YouTube, more than 70 million people have seen this interpretation of a young boy with a baseball cap and a guitar interprets its own variation of this classic. Since this piece was published, hundreds of people have had the same idea and have produced its own variation spreading it on the same platform. For example, a boy took to produce this music video, this has inspired someone else to produce this ... and has inspired someone else to produce it. Clearly if Brooklyn can do San Francisco can do it better. The fact is that this is what he dreamed Sousa when he spoke of the boys who gathered to sing the songs of the time. Today they do not physically, but gather around a digital platform that inspires the other creative. It is also thanks to the laws governing this platform that can occur with this creativity, if it were to apply the same rules that apply to old media that creativity is impossible. YouTube every minute there are 20 hours of video, in fact, ever since I started talking about today more than 12 days of videos have been uploaded to YouTube. Any rule should require prior evaluation of this material would lead to the closure of sites such as YouTube. This is the good that came out of this infrastructure, but there was also hurt, as p2p piracy, in which the authors do not allow the sharing of their material. The RIAA says that there are 12.5 billion of damage annually. I believe that these estimates are exaggerated, but there is no need to believe in these estimates, digital sales increased by 940% while record sales were down 30%. I think it would be fair for the government to worry about the damage this poses to the artists and is sure that this piracy has led to damage to some artists and this is an evil that derives from this platform of innovation. We think of journalism now, there is extraordinary that the good viene prodotto da Internet per il giornalismo, l’innovazione, la varietà delle nuove forme di giornalismo. I think that unfortunately this time has passed in my country. Although there are still some newspapers no longer the same force, the same backbone in this newspaper, we think the fact that the same New York Times did not reveal the data on Iraq until it was confirmed the election of President Bush. Clearly the Internet will increase the pressure on this type of journalism, with the reduction of cross-financing with traditional printing. This is a problem for democracy. We think then the issue of transparency, here too the Internet has produced enormous benefits, promoting efficiency and transparency in the explosion. The administration has explored the possibility of the information in an easily understandable. Data.gov presents a range of data about the government's action, which can be accessed free of charge. And then there are easily accessible information through which drivers can find ways to use less fuel and also in Britain becomes available transparent information on the operation of the British Parliament. Most of these projects are good for democracy. But there are costs here: there is a dark side to this move towards transparency, giving you an example may have seen this film about credit card debt from the United States. One of the main causes of this problem is a law called legge per la Protezione dei consumatori e Prevenzione dell’abuso da bancarotta. Nel 2001 votato a favore of that terrible law, or d ue times, giving his support to this change in legislation. Senator Clinton said it was not for the money and has defended his decision: "I do not think anyone would think it is influenced by a lobby, given my experience of thirty years - he said." I think Hilary Clinton, I do not think that Hilary Clinton could become if it is easy to be corrupt, there may be millions of reasons why the New York senator who has seen this law in a way different from what he saw from the First Lady of the United States . But what others have thought, after hearing that he had received $ 104,000 from the financial services industry, must have thought he had good reason? This is the dark side of transparency. This type of data increases the skepticism concerning the functioning of Parliament. 80% of people in California think that money buys results, the confidence of the Congress of the United States and at the lowest level in history. Perhaps there were more people who were in favor of the English monarchy at the time of Independence, than there are now in favor of Congress. So if we put together these positive and negative aspects on the same page, like a report card, we can see how these aspects have led to extremism. The left-wing extremists believe that the Internet tells you to constantly repeat the company and are in favor of the fact that the authors are under pressure due to Internet, there is an abolitionist movement that believes we should eliminate the copyright, there are reasons that it exists. As far as journalism is said to have enough blogs, we have no need of professionals who do the investigations. There are also extremists on the right.
The battle for copyright leads to suggest changes that could kill the Internet. The extremists do not want to recognize the arguments of others, then it is considered that today must be either anarchy or a totalitarian state supported by those opposed to the network. Instead we must find a happy medium. Finding a way to promote the Internet to journalism but also believe, have confidence in governo. Per quanto riguarda Policy must remove the causes that lead to the absence of trust, we must eliminate the private financing of political parties and turn it into public financing and then make sure that people can reasonably believe that any decision is taken only for money. Among the activists around the world there is no one who would bring these positions all over the world, there are only extremes. With regard to the copyright in the United States, there is a war, a friend of mine called his war on terrorism and terrorists are our children. Public funding to journalism was eliminated in the U.S., believing that the private market alone could be enough. We can not prevent our children to be creative in a way that we were not at their age, if we do that then we will only make them, force them to become pirates. In my country the children live in an era of prohibition, their lives are living against the law and this Corris, corrodes the foundations of democracy and the rule of law.
Internet is freedom. But what is freedom? Freedom can produce both good and bad. The mature response to freedom is to minimize the negative and maximize the good, the wise response of any government is to not embark on a hopeless war. What we need is that our governments are mature and are of sound mind, and must understand that we must learn from what they taught us the last century, then we do not want governments young and arrogant. Governments everywhere must realize that they can not govern by force.
